Design Notes
AgrC is a transmembrane histidine kinase. Because the 4xSH3 domain is part of a scaffold system that increases binding affinity between AgrC and the response regulator AgrA, it is necessary that the 4xSH3 domain be attached to the C-terminus, which faces the inside of the cell.
Source
AgrC is endogenous to Staphylococcus aureus, and is a histidine kinase receptor involved in the AgrBDCA quorum sensing system.
